Somewhere in you there's a story you've been meaning to tell. Give it four hours. Only For the Soul is a writing workshop for people who don't call themselves writers. No grammar lessons, no rules, no experience needed. Guided prompts take you back through your own memories and give you the space to finally put them into words. You don't just talk about writing here. You write, all the way through, and leave with real material, memories you'd forgotten you had, and one story you're ready to begin. What you'll do • Settle in, set the ground rules and get to know the group • Discover why your own life is your best material • Write from memory: childhood, food and toys, teenage years, and how the body remembers • Break for tea and coffee • Write from emotion: the letter, and the memory you avoid • Turn experience into story, and begin the story you want to tell What's included • Tea, coffee and biscuits Not included • Parking charges, if any Before you go • Bring a notepad and pen
